ABOUT OUR PASTOR
Our pastor is Cole Howe, a Wyoming native and United States Air Force veteran. On December 1, 1980 while attending Grace Baptist Church in Cody, Wyoming, Cole was born-again. He was led to Christ by the then-Youth & Assistant Pastor, Tom Rickard. Pastor Howe was baptized into the membership of Grace Baptist a few weeks later by Pastor Harvey Seidel.
High School sweethearts, Cole and Cindy (Watkins) were married in 1991, and have three married children - Caitlyn (Mrs. Bob Oswald), Catrina (Mrs. Stefan Christensen), and Caleb (Makinna Higgins) - five absolutely gorgeous granddaughters (Tori, Chloe, Nora, Mia, & Hallie), and two completely terrific grandsons (Judson & Hugh).
The Howe’s moved to Moab from Thermopolis, Wyoming in November 1998 when Cole became the pastor Moab Baptist. He was ordained into the ministry on January 17, 2006, and holds a Bachelor of Arts in Ministry (Pastoral Ministry) from Bethany Divinity College of Dothan, Alabama.
Pastor enjoys reading (Zane Grey, Louis L'Amour, A.W. Tozer, D. Martyn Lloyd-Jones, Paul Chappell, R.B. Ouellette, John Phillips, and various Christian biographies, authors, and subjects), hunting, fishing, time with Cindy (anything she wants to do...even the mall!), his children, and doing grandpa stuff.
CHURCH HISTORY
Beginning as a Bible study in the 1970's, and organized into a church on May 17, 1980, Moab Baptist Church continues to be a soulwinning church seeking to reach our area for the cause of Christ. In addition to regular services on Sunday morning and evening, we also have year-round Sunday School for all ages, a Wednesday Bible Study, and ministries for children, teenagers, and adult men and women.
Since its founding, our church has had six pastors - Ed Butler, Paul Chappell, John Crater, David Halcomb, Roy O'Quinn, and Cole Howe.
